Arthur Dénouvelles, President of the Life for Paris Association of Victims of Terrorism, presented the National Medal of Recognition for Victims of Terrorism, which was awarded to the Museum-Memorial of Terrorism (MMT) on October 2, 2024, to integrate its collections. He stressed that the request for this decoration is evidence of a voluntary approach that allows victims to express the active role they wish to find. To give, to give to the MMT in the form of deposit, loan, is also to fit in with this perspective.
He also gave the museum the "heart of the torch" that he had received from the Olympic Games Organizing Committee in thanks for his participation in the relay of the flame, which he had transmitted to Philippe Duperron, president of the association of victims of terrorism 13One15 Fraternity and truth.

As a reminder, the National Medal of Recognition for Victims of Terrorism is a decoration created by Decree No. 2016-949 of 12 July 2016. It shall be awarded, by decree of the President of the Republic, retroactively from the 1st day following the date on which it was issued.and January 1974. The French may receive it, if they are killed, wounded or taken prisoner in terrorist acts committed on national territory or abroad, and if they are killed, injured or taken hostage in terrorist acts committed on national territory or abroad against the interests of the French Republic.

"The obverse is a five petal flower marked with white lines to remind the colour of the ribbon and charged with five ears of olive leaves to symbolize the value of peace within the Republic. In the centre, a silver medal bordered with blue, with the inscription "FRANÇAIS REPUBLIC" and, in the heart, the statue of the Place de la République in Paris. The reverse is a five-petalled flower marked with white lines to recall the colour of the ribbon, and charged with five ears of olive leaves to symbolize the value of peace within the Republic. In the centre, a medal lined with blue, charged with the motto "LIBERTÉ – EQUALITY – FRATERNITY" and in the heart, two French flags crossed. »

The "heart of the torch" represents the ring which is inserted in the middle of the torch and which allows to assemble its two parts. This work was designed by Mathieu Lehanneur and produced in France by ArcelorMittal. With a diameter of 10 cm and a thickness of 2 mm, this steel object or are engraved "flame bearer", "Jeux scout" and "Paris 2024" was offered to all the flame bearers.
