Event: Jihadist attack involving a truck ramming pedestrians on the Promenade des Anglais during the Bastille Day celebrations

Location: Nice, France

Featuring a cap and multiple, disproportionate eyes, this mask was made by a child who was on the Promenade des Anglais with her mother and saw the terrorist’s truck hurtling towards them. This object symbolises the child’s hypervigilance since the evening of the attack.

The child has since regarded this vision as a superpower that enabled her to save her own life and that of her mother.
