Memory objects, symbolic objects
Today we are taking note of the memory and reappropriation of past violence. Indeed, within a Latinist class, we have been entrusted with the task of associating our gaze with the words of survivors of attacks or relatives of victims. Thus, thanks to the Association French Victims of Terrorism (A)fVT), the students were asked to question their conception of terrorism, to explore this cycle of violence against a people chosen for what it represented. A real openness to the world, which has resulted in a drafting of a text devoted to the study of an object which, in students' minds, would be representative of terrorism. From there, the witnesses chose the writer of the text that was most echoed to exchange in an interview around the subject of the student, the experience of the witness and what he wants to express. At the end of the exchange, it is the witness who in turn gave an object that represented for him his painful past. In the end, these exchanges motivated the design and realization of a grieving gown to honour the victims, their suffering and their ability to convey a message of hope.
Thus, throughout the project, there is talk of transmission and recollection, allowing the two generations to step side by side towards consciousness, acceptance and reflection.
