Toulouse and Montauban, from trauma to resilience

This production aims to show the various stages of the attacks in Toulouse and Montauban in March 2012: radicalization of the terrorist - attacks - media coverage - investigation - reconstruction - memory - commemoration.
Divided into 7 groups, the students created posters that make up the final frieze made of 7 panels. It has been digitized and is accompanied by a song by 3 students.

To create their panels, the students relied on the various sessions offered in class, on the answers of a survey of 451 people (pupils, student leaders, teachers, high school staff) and especially on the pedagogical day "Doing in the face of terrorism" which took place on 7 March 2024 at the Palais de Justice in Toulouse. The students were able to meet "actors" in connection with terrorism and the fight against it (victim, photographer, magistrate, framework of a counter-terrorism service ...). These meetings served to inspire students both in the form of their posters and in the content. The students did a wide variety of work (poem, drawings, song, survey report, diagram...).

Finally, the class decided to finish its frieze with the theme "commemoration" in order to imagine a "garden of remembrance" that could be created in Toulouse. Indeed, they found that the different places of commemoration are too little visible (garden Michelet or square Charles de Gaulle in Toulouse) or commemorate only a few victims (Jewish victims at the Ozar Hatorah school, military victims at the Montauban barracks...). Thus, they propose a place commemorating all victims without distinction. They chose to include in this "garden of remembrance" the memorial designed by their high school comrades who had participated in the previous edition of the project.
