Transcription and translation of the exhibit panel

Terrorism is, above all, a modus operandi characterised by the use of extreme violence. Regardless of the era or the motives, and regardless of the ideologies at play, the aim is to instil fear, destabilise and create chaos. In most attacks, it is the entire nation that has been targeted, as embodied in every individual affected.

To honour the memory of the victims, the Museum and Memorial of Terrorism has chosen to display a selection of objects. Whether damaged, distorted or unfinished, they all bear witness to lives that have been shattered. Each one bears the indelible, visible marks of the violence they have endured. They form part of our collective memory, for this concerns us all.
