As part of the 2026 European Heritage Days, the Museum and Memorial of Terrorism is partnering with the Paris Court of Appeals to present a photography exhibition titled “FacingTerrorism: A Heritage Yet to Be Created” and a lecture by historian Henry Rousso titled “The Museum and Memorial of Terrorism: A New Heritage Site.”
Join us on Saturday, September 19, at the Paris Courthouse to explore the project and the collections of the Terrorism Museum and Memorial.

Photo Exhibition

“Facing Terrorism: A Heritage Yet to Be Created”

This photography exhibition will showcase a selection of iconic pieces from the permanent collection—currently being assembled—of the future Museum and Memorial of Terrorism. These objects, each in their own way, tell the stories of lives suddenly confronted by terrorism, a form of wartime violence that often manifests itself in times of peace.

The objects will be presented under three main themes: violence (of the attack), resistance (of societies), and resilience (of those affected). As traces of various past and recent terrorist acts, these objects bear witness to the individual and collective capacity to confront terrorism. They also constitute a heritage worth preserving.
