On the occasion of the first district council of the Mont-Valérien, in Suresnes, organized on 15 January by the town hall, in the presence of the general secretary of the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture, Sophie Guiroy, and the teams of the OPPIC, which ensure the delegated management of works, Henry Rousso and Elisabeth Pelsez were invited to present the MMT project to the inhabitants of the district, members of this council.

They outlined the general philosophy of the project and the planning of the works that will begin in the spring, especially with the curing phase (cleaning a building before restoration). The inhabitants were also able to hear two testimonies: that of Nadia Mondeguer, who lost her daughter during the November 2015 attacks on the terrace of the Belle Team, and that of Marie-Claude Desjeux, member of the GIP MMT orientation observatory, former president of the National Federation of Victims of Attacks and Collective Accidents (Fenvac), who lost his brother during the attack on the gas site of In Amenas, Algeria, in January 2013.

The exchanges allowed the Suresnois present to show their interest in this new project, their empathy with the victims and some of their questions about the impact on the life of the neighbourhood. Many questions have been asked which stakeholders have responded with the desire both to reassure the inhabitants and to explain to them the benefits in the long term of such a project, which, among other things, allows to restore one of the most famous buildings in the city, known throughout the world.

A further information meeting open to all the inhabitants of Suresnes and Rueil-Malmaison will be organised by the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture on Monday, 5 February 2024.
