Opening of the educational exhibition

On 16 October, some 50 people (magistrates, victims, students and teachers...) were present in the grand trials room at the Paris Court of Appeal for the inauguration of the 3rd edition of the educational exhibition Facing Terrorism. After an opening by Jacques Boulard, first president of the Court of Appeal of Paris and then Marie-Suzanne Le Queau, attorney general at the said Court and Henry Rousso, president of the mission of prefiguring the MMT, the students of the 10 institutions that participated, accompanied by their teachers, presented the fruit of a year of work, research, meetings and exchanges. For example, more than 300 students from the academies of Créteil, Guadeloupe, Paris, Strasbourg and Toulouse have brought their teenage gaze on terrorism and the means to deal with it.

The public was able to discover works as varied as films, songs, drawings or models. Then, Mostafa Salhane, a taxi driver taken hostage, during the attack on the Christmas market in Strasbourg on 11 December 2018, closed this day with the presentation of his latest work A long journey into dreams.

A moment rich in sharing and emotions, because the works and commitment of the students and their teachers, but also the symbolism of the hall where this opening took place, were particularly moving, as Hager Ben Aouissi, victim of the Nice bombing, on 14 July 2016 and president of the association A voice, children " Coming back here, this time for a future-oriented cause, has been an upsetting experience for me. Sitting at the very place where the lawyers of the civil parties were standing, I felt a deep emotion by transforming these painful memories into something of hope. For me, it's also a sweet way to re-appropriate this place, to burn other memories that I know will help me in my reconstruction journey."
